• The USB connector on the Insignia reader (and writer -- I don't know why they don't say reader/writer) is a type A connector -- exactly like what you'd find on a flash drive.

• The male end is a standard USB. You can buy an adaptor that has a universal micro charger on one end and a "female" USB on the other. Then plug into your phone. Works on my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone perfectly. See picture. Hope this helped.

• It's a standard USB, not micro USB which is what the cable size is for the samsung charger.
