I only have 1500 SF and it will pick up so much hair that you may need to empty the bin a few times. I would recommend the newer model they say empties the bin each time it docks. However, because it does such a good job, make sure you get extra bags for the holding bag in the charging station.

I personally like the iroomba 960. I also have a big house with the same type flooring as you and this is amazing. Don't see how I ever did without one. I don't know a lot about other brands but I would bet that the battery is about the same on everything. The good thing on this model is that when it needs to charge and the jobs not done, it returns to the charging station on its own, charges and then resumes after charge where it left off to complete the job.
