“Can the Roomba be taught to avoid my high-pile rug, i.e., treat it like a wall?”

• No, it will purposelessly seek it out to get stuck. This machine is not effective in its cleaning. I put the sensor up to avoid my rug, and it went after it and got stuck 3 times in less than 10 minutes. There were new batteries in the sensor.

• There should have been a rectangle shaped, black box looking item. That object will either set up an invisible wall so the Roomba wont go past it or set up a half circle thatthe Roomba won't go near. If you look on the black box item itself, it will show a diagram and which position the switch needs to be in in order to turn on that particular function.
