“I’m considering purchasing this exact unit, but need to have this question answered before I do... since this unit does NOT have integrated GPS, will I be able to mirror my Google Maps from my phone to the screen??”

I have my unit hooked up with the Apple Car Play and it allows me to have Google or Apple Maps pulled up with images and it can give vocals as well.

Without knowing more specifics, I believe the answer is "yes." While I used this unit with an iPhone/CarPlay and Apple Maps to get navigation on the screen, it mentions that you can also use Google Maps and Waze as well. I don't have an Android phone, but the unit supports Android Auto, which will display navigation on the screen from what I've seen, and the instructions mention a screen mirroring feature for Android.
