This device is pretty much meant to record your driving activity. It can also monitor your car when off for short periods of time. These batteries are designed for about 20 minutes or so of life when not connected to a power source. What you would like to do is possible, but you'll need to invest in a serious batter pack to sustain the power overnight. If the car is off and the camera is set to detect motion, that battery will only last for about 20 minutes as stated before. Your best bet to monitor the car is by investing in a WiFi security camera. There are many kinds out there at different price points.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When you turn your car off it turns off. I suppose that you could run it on an independent battery. If the outlet on your car doesn’t turn off (and I believe they all do) then it would keep going.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't believe so. This is an excellent cam for continuous videoing, though, while driving. I also have an Arlo Go which does not need WiFi and catches motion, and can be viewed from your phone, either on demand or via captured videos. Excellent for security purposes. However, it is not continuous. I believe you can set it up to record for two minutes at a time, then it takes a little time to process, I guess, then will record again when it detects motion. However, it requires a contract through, like Verizon, to activate, etc.
