It doesn’t matter if its sealed or ported. It’s the size of box or there lack of that mathematically determines if you need to port the box. A sealed box with these speakers gives you quicker base response. A ported box is slower reacting but louder over all bass. Hope this helped?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can be used in either a sealed or vented enclosure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sub will move faster in a vented enclosure simply because it’s easier for the cone to move. Push down on the sub in a sealed one and then push down on a sub In vented box and you’ll see. That also is what helps a vented sub to be more efficient plus with correct box volume and tuned port it is louder at a narrower frequency response. Most of the time a sealed one has better sound quality due to a slower roll off of its response. View the manual for the jbl gx1200 or look at the RF p3 manual and they explain the pros n cons of each. Lastly a vented enclosure to spec is a good bit larger than it’s sealed equivalent. You would think the opposite to be true. If your box is smaller than spec add fiber fill in the box. It makes the sub “act” like it’s in a larger enclosure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can go in either but I would recommend a vented box because the bass is a little stronger!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can go in either box and sound great. Unlike some other answers that have no idea what they are talking about, the "speed" of the subwoofer isn't different in different types of boxes and a ported box adds resistance to the cone, not the opposite. If you don't know what you are doing, a sealed box is a bit safer, but a ported box built correctly will 95% of the time sound better and louder.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can support both vented and closes box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Closed box
