• A:Answer It doesn’t matter if its sealed or ported. It’s the size of box or there lack of that mathematically determines if you need to port the box. A sealed box with these speakers gives you quicker base response. A ported box is slower reacting but louder over all bass. Hope this helped?

• A:Answer I'm sure they would be a good replacement and upgrade. The only problem these are single voice coils and wired for a 4 ohm load. Most home audio are 8 ohm load amps. The good side is Kenwood makes a 4 ohm dual voice coil in this same sub you can wire it to 8 ohms.

For the KFC-W120SVC woofer, if you build a ported enclosure, using around 1.70 ft³ (net) (per the SubBox design) is a reasonable starting point. For a sealed box, around 1.20–1.30 ft³ appears to work well based on community builds. Q: QuestionI bought two of these subs, I have them in an inclosed box. I’m running them off of a 2 channel 2,400 watt 2ohm amplifier. Should I have my amplifier turned on the higher side, or lower side? The subs have been cutting on & off & I can’t figure out why.

• A:Answer you can use anything from a 50w to a 2000w amp on these subs, you just can't turn them up if you are using the larger amp and you shouldn't turn them up beyond clipping on the smaller amp. The amp only realizes the power you are giving it, it doesn't know what the amp is rated for, so as long as you are smart enough to restrain yourself on using all the power, a big amp can be used. I have run tweeters off a 2000w amp before without issue, but i am very experienced with audio. Most people will blow their first set of subs no matter what size of amp they use because they don't understand the equipment
