A: Your crossover should be between 80 to 90 hz if its on low pass. And your gain depends on the voltage your head unit is giving out. Remember, the gain is not a volume knob. Gain is to match the voltage from the headunit. So start with your gain turned all the way down. Turn bass and treble all the way down on head unit. And turn bass knob down also. Now, turn headunit volume up 75%. (If it goes to 40, set it to 30) Now turn your gain up until its sounds evenly amplified. (If theres distortion, turn gain down slighty). Your gain could be anywhere between 25% - 65%. But you shouldnt have it anywhere close to 100%......ever. Now turn up your xover until you reach around 80 - 90hz. Make sure its on low pass. It should sound pretty good around there. You dont want high frequencies going through your sub. Go back to your head unit and adjust bass and treble to your liking. Do not set bass at 100% on headunit. Also the bass boost on your amp should be at 0%. Congrats on your new sub. Enjoy!!!

I went from originally having a single kicker comp R 12in to this model not expecting that much change but oh my gosh it is so so worth the extra money. The base is not only heavier but cleaner smoother deeper and all around much more enjoyable, and somehow does not cause my trunk to vibrate as much. Trust me this is a great subwoofer and will not let you down very strong quality that will last for years and can beating.

I’m actually rather impressed with this sub. I’m a bit of a bass head and I had a massive 3000watt amp and a 13” 82pound sub in my truck. I was tired of not having cargo space so I gave this a try. I have a 500 watt amp on it and it sounds fantastic! I drive a big ol Suburban and it holds its own in my truck!

This thing moves a lot of air! It plays loud, low and clean. It's just enough, but you can turn up the bass knob to easily make it "too much." Teeth rattling, eyelid fluttering, breath taking too much. I like having choices! ( ;
