A: I originally had this paired with one Kicker Comp R 12 at 2 ohms. That was way too powerful for the Comp R because it kept blowing the sub despite Best Buy Geek Squad tech actually taking the time to ensure the output was matched and accurate to what that one Comp R 12 was supposed to be able to handle. It was explained to me that the blowing was likely due to this amp actually being more powerful than it's reported and not necessarily due to the Comp R 12 not being able to handle what it's supposed to. I recently upgraded to the Kicker Comp VX 12. Wow. I've got a bass knob installed. The bass know was previously turned all the way up when the Kicker Comp R was paired with this amp, and the gain on the amp was turned down lower to prevent the Comp R 12 from blowing. It still sounded good, but I figured I wanted to get more out of the amp by going with a better sub. The Kicker Comp VX 12 hits so much deeper and louder paired with this amp at 1 ohm (it's 1 ohm stable which is a huge deal!), AND that's wit the bass knob turned down to about 25% I want to give this sub some time to break in and am gradually turning up the bass knob. Summary is that this is perfect to pair with one Kicker Comp VX 12 with it wired at 1 ohm. I promise you won't regret it. Matthew 7:12
