you can use anything from a 50w to a 2000w amp on these subs, you just can't turn them up if you are using the larger amp and you shouldn't turn them up beyond clipping on the smaller amp. The amp only realizes the power you are giving it, it doesn't know what the amp is rated for, so as long as you are smart enough to restrain yourself on using all the power, a big amp can be used. I have run tweeters off a 2000w amp before without issue, but i am very experienced with audio. Most people will blow their first set of subs no matter what size of amp they use because they don't understand the equipment
