• You should probably have an amplifier and you need to match the amp to the rating of the subwoofer by looking at wattage and ohms

• Absolutely need an amplifier for this subwoofer. I will only recomnend this sub if you are putting it in the cab of a truck ir directly in the cabin if your vehicle. You will be disappointed if you put it in the trunk of a car.
