Voltage in one of the rear positive speaker wires turns it on when your head unit is turned on. When no voltage detected in speaker wire, it turns off. I will say that I noticed the blue light will turn on if a chime or warning sounds which uses a rear speaker wire but the light turns off after while. This occurred when truck was not running and I opened all the doors. I have never heard any noise when it turns on or off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Answer is no. If you have a special radio like I do it allows you to enable the remote amp for subs. However, there is a volume knob in this kit you can use to turn down the volume where it is pretty much off.
