“So I have an older car and I might need to move it if I get a new one, is it portable? And would I need new door speakers? I know some people do that but I didn’t know if it would be too harsh on them or wouldnt sound as good.”

although it has to be wired, it can be removed. Mine is only secure with Velcro. The new location will have to be wired also. This unit does not produce booming base. It was a mild addition to my exsisting system. Not sure I would recommend if strong base is desired
