It really depends on the programs your daughter will be using. This is an entry level, light use system. It will be good for Microsoft Office programs, light internet browsing. We recommend you check with the games and software publisher's web sites for the programs your daughter will be using, for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.

Replacing the hard drive to a SSD helps this laptop greatly; this system is a bit sluggish without it. I would highly suggest doing the small upgrade if you do get it.
