    Great laptop for the price

    |
    Posted .

Bought it for just over $200. I'll cut to the chase. Processor speeds, RAM, HD space, whether a laptop is good for gaming, downloading large files, viewing things like TV shows online: If you are a gamer or huge online streamer I have no idea if this laptop is for you but I'd guess that if that's your criteria, it's going to cost you more than a little over $200. Processor speeds: It's been mentioned the AMD A6 processor and limited RAM makes this laptop 'slow.' Slow is a state of mind. If fractions of a second processor-wise is an issue, again, you may be out of your price point. I use this laptop for online surfing/email, microsoft office including ppt/spreadsheet, viewing TV shows online, storing/organizing photos and utilizing the DVD drive. I do not use it for any gaming of any type. So for me it works fine...with a good wifi connection, everything, including watching shows online, show no lag. I've watched DVDs; no problem. The actual HD is 500 GBs; again, HD size is a state of mind. I can deal with 500 gb. And I can also transfer things to somewhere outside this HD if space becomes an issue. For many average laptop users, as a personal laptop, I would recommend it even if only based on the performance vs. price. But it's got a few things I'mm not happy with. There's 2 standard USB ports. I knew that going in; the number of ports isn't the issue. But they're right next to each other, and very close to each other. Right now I have a very narrow logitech plug in in one of the ports for my wireless mouse. And yet if I simply try to insert a standard Sandisk thumbdrive next to it, they both don't fit; too wide. So it's really silly to me that whenever I want to insert anything except a micro thumbdrive into my laptop, I have to remove my wireless mouse. And even then, I can't, for example, insert 2 of my Sandisk thumbdrives at the same time, even when I've removed my wireless mouse. My other major complaint: The Enter and Shift buttons on the RH side of the keyboard. Most standard keyboards have some variation of the Enter button on the ASDF keyboard line RH side and the Shift button on the line below, on the RH side. The Shift button is often 'longer' than the Enter button so that when a right handed person is typing and has to capitalize every sentence the Shift button is easily accessed via your RH pinkie, mostly because the Shift button sticks right out below your pinkie. On this keyboard the RH Shift button is less than half the length of standard keyboards. So it's a pain to type because so often you think you're hitting the Shift key but you hit the Enter key instead and the cursor leaves you.... And I know the Shift and Enter key locations may seem trivial but they are not, especially to 'larger fingered' people such as myself and people who type via the standard asdf/jkl; method. I've enclosed pics of a 'standard' keyboard and this reviewed one so you can see what I'm talking about.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15 laptop. With regard to the USB ports, you may want to consider using a USB hub to have better spacing and more available USB ports to use at any one time. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. lenovo

I love this laptop, I bought it for online classes because the one I had was old, and I’m glad I got this one. It’s good for what I need it for and has very clear picture. However, the mouse pad sometimes freezes up or is very slow.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Ideapad 110-15 laptop. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. lenovo

This sounds like there was a software issue. A recent Windows 10 Update may be the cause. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. You can do this by just typing "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point. Here is the link:

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15 laptop. This system should good speed with its AMD A6 processor and 4GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Concerning the screen brightness, be sure you have "auto brightness" turned off in display settings and your screen brightness is set to 100%. lenovo

    Nice Laptop

    Posted .

This is a nice laptop for the price. It is pretty quick for everyday surfing. I added a solid state hard drive which makes it even better. There are only 2 problems I see.....one is that the description states that it has one 2.0 type A port and one 3.0 Type C port......wrong, it has 2 type A ports. The other big thing that really bugs me is the right shift key......ugh!.....instead of being a long key below to the left of the enter key, there is a "PgUp" key in part of its place and beside that is the "shift" key which is half that size and below to the right of the enter key. I can type 55-60 wpm and this drastically effects my speed and is something that is going to be hard to do because my right pinky finger doesn't reach it without putting my other fingers out of place. Not sure what I will do, had I realized this before I bought this laptop, it would have been a game changer for me but its to late now but who knew, I have never seen a shift key like this before! For this I rate it a 3 star.

    No Warranty!!!!

    Posted .

I am alarmed that Lenovo provides no warranty for this item. If the laptop breaks in the first year, you are out of luck. My second complaint of the laptop is the edge, where my wrist rests, is sharp and uncomfortable when I rest my wrist on it. The edge is only sharp on the left side. I placed a piece of scotch tape to alleviate this problem but it makes the laptop look very unrefined.

Lenovo supports all of its new computers with a 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty, which covers OEM issues. The warranty is not transferable, so if you bought this computer used, the warranty is no longer in effect. lenovo

    Good Cheap Laptop

    |
    Posted .

I was looking for cheap laptop to use for work. I was looking at this model and the HP with the same specs. I chose this particular one because it had a better wireless card and wanted to try a different brand than HP ( I have owned HP desktops and Laptops before. Not bad just wanted something different). I know there are not a lot of bells and whistles with this computer but it is sufficient for what I need it for. Accessing work web applications and using office programs. I uninstalled the programs that I don't need and limit the amount of applications at start up and have no problem with speed or loading. Its a little more snappy than I expected. I cannot attest for the longevity of this computer, but far I am very pleased with this purchase.

I researched my purchase on Best Buy website and also with Consumer Reports. I wanted a basic laptop with high ratings and reliability at a low price. Salesperson at store quickly answered my questions, gave me a boxed Lenova laptop, and I was through checkout quickly. When home, I started the laptop, went through connecting it quickly to my WiFi, and the laptop automatically downloaded updates. It was ready to use shortly thereafter. I have used it for web searches and Skype, and I am pleased with my purchase.

    Great Budget Laptop

    |
    Posted .

This is my first Lenovo laptop. I saw many reviews with complaints about the RH shift key being next to the "up" arrow and smaller in size. First off, I hardly use the RH shift key (just what I have grown accustomed to) so this doesn't apply to me. The few times I have used it, it took me just a split second to glance at the keyboard to make sure I was hitting it-no big deal. I also read reviews that said the computer was very slow. I have to disagree. The computer is plenty fast for what I use it for, and was actually quite surprised by the speed. Is it as fast as an i7 processor? Absolutely not, but it is good for what it is. I chose this laptop because I didn't have the money in my account to buy a $500+ laptop and needed one ASAP to replace my i3 that died on my after 6 years of hard use. I have had this laptop for a few weeks now and use it for my business. I do a lot of emailing, basic social media marketing ad designing, online shopping, Facebooking, messaging, organizing meetings with clients, PayPal, etc.and am typically on my computer for 2-5 hours/day. If you need a solid, basic computer, this is a great one. If you need one to do webpage designing, extensive social media ad creating/marketing, lots of video downloading, gaming, etc., go for a $500+ laptop. My wife has an HP with an i7 and a 12GB Ram, and quite honestly, I love how sleek and lightweight the Lenovo is and how comfortable the keyboard is (for me) over my wife's HP. I also love that the screen opens up to 180 degrees so I can sit in bed and type with my laptop propped up on my knees, while still being able to see the screen. My wife likes the Lenovo too! Hope this helps someone with questions!

    Great Low Cost Computer

    |

This Lenovo computer is not the hottest computer you can buy, but is a very good computer for the price. It only costs $200, and it combines a reasonably fast processor with 4 GB of RAM, a 500 GB hard drive and a DVD burner. The display is crisp and clear, and it works great for web surfing, and it even does a good job editing photos with Photoshop Elements. For the price, it is a great "value for the money" computer!

No, it's not super speedy, but it's not as slow as a dual core. That said, the wireless ac makes it work better over the same spec. HP laptop I also own with wireless N. It's a good basic laptop with a DVD drive, Video camera, and numeric keypad. Very usable low price laptop for the money I paid ( it was on sale). I would recommend this to anyone in need of a laptop, but not a lot of money to spend on one. It just works.

I've used this laptop for a little while. Will not be a good laptop for any kind of gaming, but great for doing schoolwork, light internet browsing, and watching videos. Seems to be more sluggish with more and more new Windows 10 updates that come out for it though, most likely the newer updates are not optimized the best for this system. Still not a bad system for light use nonetheless

    Good entry level laptop

    |
    Posted .

This is a good entry level budget laptop. My only negative comment is about a possible RAM upgrade. It comes with 4 GB of RAM, which is low adequate. But to upgrade to 8 GB of RAM, you have to throw away the 4 GB stick and buy an 8 GB stick because it only has one RAM slot. This is stupid. An 8 GB stick is twice as expensive as a 4 GB stick. The MOBO should have two slots.
