This is a good mid-level system. It would be a good choice for a first computer for someone, or a good choice for someone who is a moderate user. This configuration is good for Microsoft Office programs, browsing the internet, playing basic games and videos. If the 13-year old will be doing this type of work, then yes, this will be a good choice.

THE AUDIO QUALITY IS NOT GOOD AND THE START UP IS SLOW ON THIS LAPTOP. IF YOU CAN GET PASS THAT, THIS IS A GOOD LAPTOP FOR SURFING THE WEB, CHECKING EMAIL, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, IG, SNAPCHAT AND ECT, PLAY BASIC GAMES WELL TOO. YOU JUST CANT DOWNLOAD ALOT OF APPS ON THE LAPTOP. YES THIS IS GOOD FOR FIRST TIME LAPTOP OWNERS AND STUDENTS
