Screen size, quality and other features are good. USB ports offer some challenges and sometimes do not function. Touch screen response is unsatisfactory. Since I prefer external mouse, it does not fee to my work.
Main drawback is the battery life. Till now it has lasted for only just above two hours and I am planning to take it back to my purchase location next week.
This computer is not meant for professionals and it is priced accordingly.

The battery life on this system should be 3 to 4 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing. Be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining your battery. Be sure the devices you are plugging in to the USB ports are compatible with the Windows 10 operating system and any necessary drivers are installed. This model does not have a touch screen, if you are referring to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad.

I have had the laptop for about a year now and it works great. Fast bootup and is fine for word processing and web surfing. My only irritation is that the right shift button is too small so i keep hitting the up arrow key when typing fast. My next laptop will have a full-sized right shift key. Otherwise just fine.

I purchased this laptop for business purposes. Having a very speciific requirement for a windows machine I didn't need a high powered computer. This Lenovo fit the bill as it has good quality components and the price was very reasonable.
The sales rep at Best Buy was able to assist me in selecting a computer that met my needs.

The only thing I don't like is that the right shift key is not where it normally is on a keyboard. There is a page up key instead and the shift key is moved over one space. For anyone used to typing without looking at the keys, this is annoying.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15 laptop. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

Sooo, I had the unfortunate luck of purchasing this Lenovo for my mother for mother day..... so.. of course I was the best daughter EVER.. until we tried to use it the next day. I took off work to help her set it up and set up a typing program ... Mavis... the same program she had on her Dell for the past 5 years... it was set up.. we turned it off and left to have lunch... and then the fun started.... it wouldn't boot up.. got a crazy message about "Unmountable Boot Volume"... whatever the heck that means... then about Partitions... I went through all types of discussions boards... ONE imparticular board spoke to me with one sentence.. "sigh...why didn't I just buy a Dell or HP? "

We are sorry to hear about the issue you are having with your Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15. The first thing you should verify is that the program you installed is compatible with Windows 10. It sounds like there is a compatibility issue with a program that has been installed. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. Be sure to only install programs that are compatible with Windows 10. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files.

Got a major digital scratch while pushing up the screen. Obviously I should have been more careful. Buyer be aware computer is flimsy. Worked nicely though. Only had the computer 8 weeks.

This was my first time purchasing a Lenovo, my last 2 laptops were HP and they would fall apart. So I decided on something different. I did my research on a few computers, like I normally do and I came across this one and a few others. I browsed best buy for a while; played with a few laptops. Price played a very important factor. I needed something nice for a nice price. I only use it for my classes and casual browsing, some down loading. It moves pretty fast. I didn't like the power button at first but it's grown on me. It's not very loud which is a big downer for me because I have to watch a lot of lectures and I find myself having to sit close to the laptop or use my headphones. Graphics are beautiful. Doesn't come with too much extra stuff preloaded on it. Set up was super quick. Overall I like it. It was worth the price that I paid. It's really light weight. I wanted a backlit keyboard but I know my way around a keyboard so its not that bad. Camera quality isn't the best but I don't really use it much anyway. I love it!

The price was so low that I figured there must be a design flaw or some known issue. NOPE! After reading several reviews of this model, and from a variety of sources...I went ahead and bought this. It did not disappoint!
However, I made some changes.
First was to replace the spinning hard drive with a new solid state drive (also purchased at Best Buy). This not only speeds up overall performance of an already decent performer...but adds a bit of future-proofing too. The price was so low, why not spend ~$70 to pop in a SSD?
OK, maybe not 'pop in'. The hard drive is really sandwiched inside the body of this thing and I cannot with all honesty recommend just anyone try this upgrade. As an IT consultant and tech I've taken apart my share of laptops...whether to fix, upgrade, or scavenge parts. But this model was a little on the tricky side. As my Dad used to say, "If you're forcing it...you're doing something wrong". And since I was running across a separation that would not budge, I had to stop and consult the great source of all things messy to work on....Youtube. Yep, sure enough someone had a video on how to dis-assemble this puppy, and it showed me where I'd missed a screw that needed removal.
Spent ~$15 on a good 2.5-inch external drive case and the 1-Terabyte drive that came out of the laptop is now a nice portable backup drive!
OK, next thing was the operating system. I could've cloned the OS from the original hard drive over to the new SSD (you need an adapter for USB to SSD for this), BUT I still hate Windows 10 (and 8 and 8.1) So I installed Windows 7 64-bit Pro from scratch. Note that a couple of changes to the system BIOS is needed for it to recognize the Win7 installation. How to access the BIOS and what settings need changing is mentioned all over the internet...so Google is your friend here.
The Lenovo website has all the Win7 drivers needed for the new installation. And after downloading all the MS Updates, along with installing my must-have software...my daughter has a good, fast reliable laptop that should last at least 5 years!
Otherwise, for those of you not interested in the path I took...it's still a good deal as is.

This lap top comes pretty close to being a substitute for my PC . . There's plenty of storage and memory and has good speed . What you get for the price is fantastic . It's thin and pretty light . My main complaint is that I wish the battery stayed charged a bit longer . Over all I am very happy with my purchase

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15 laptop. With regard to the battery life, try changing your power management setting to a more conservative one. You can do this in the control panel, in the power management category on your system. Select a more conservative power management setting to extend battery life.

Terrible Keyboard Design!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
My husband and I bought two of these, on sale for $279 each. He set up the laptops (he's a computer geek, and good at it) and I was off and running. I am a blogger, and I type a LOT (between 75-90WPM). What the...? I realized that the keyboard's SHIFT key for the right hand was half the traditional size and I kept hitting the PAGE UP key instead. It about drove me NUTS! My husband did some research and found he could do some key mapping to change the Page Up to be my Shift key, but I declined. I wanted my large classic shift key. So, buyer beware.. if you are a two finger typist, then it won't bother you. Me? I could not get my pinky finger to reach that tiny little shift key. Too late, we googled and discovered that this is a common complaint. So we packed up the laptops, returned them, paid a little more for two Dell laptops. I hope Lenovo fixes this terrible design.

I got this computer to replace a 9 year old laptop, which served me very well. I couldn't be happier with this computer and it cost me less than that laptop from 9 years ago. It is fast. It is lightweight. It has a great display and more memory than I'll ever use. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting a nice laptop for a small amount of money.

The laptop is quick enough to do the basics. I would rank it about average in terms of speed. Price to speed is good. Dont expect a super fast computer. My only gripe has to do with the shift key on the right hand side. It is out of place to accommodate the arrows, so I keep hitting the arrow up key instead of the shift key. Track pad is average too nothing impressive. It could be more responsive. Overall this is a value purchase I got it in sale.

Chose this laptop for school and office requirements. Not a powerhouse for gaming.
The 1TB is more than enough to store college projects and office documentation.
Fast to operate, and intuitive due to Windows 10.
Not a fan of touch screen laptops, so not having one was not a factor of this purchase.
Battery lasts around 4 to 5 hours on using word editors, and class video watching both on and offline.
A bit lighter than expected given the size. Making it excellent to carry along with college books and material in my bag.

More Than Just A Great Laptop For The Beginner

It is said that you get what you pay for, and with all the different brands of computers on the market today one could get mighty frustrated in making the right choice when buying a computer. I must confess that I have always tried to own computers that were as powerful and fast as one could be but recently my laptop became too antiquated to operate with today's programs and my job dictated that I replace it immediately . . I had a deadline to meet and I found myself shopping on and offline for a new one, something to get me by. I was running short on time and needed to make my choice and so to save money I decided to go with a Lenovo ideapad 110. My thinking was I could meet my deadline with my new purchase and with the money I saved on the deal I would later look to see about getting an upgraded laptop, one that is more powerful and faster. I am happy to report that my upgrade won't come for some time because I am quite satisfied with my new laptop. The keyboard took some getting use to but I'm happy with it overall.
