I have *EXACTLY* the same problem (humidity and a smell that irritates the throat, causing us to cough—likely particulates—reminiscent of lightly burned material). Keep in mind, this is not the normal burn off smell that happens when it's brand new and disappears after a dozen or so cycles. This is something else that started near the one-year purchase date. We called the company and they thought the problem was that the clothes were being overheated. So they replaced the heating component. However, the problem did not go away. We used affresh to clean out the machine and the smell seems to be different (less of an irritant) and slightly different. But the humidity is still there. Either way, neither of those things are supposed to be happening and we will need to investigate further.
