QuestionHow many gallons of water does this use to wash an average load?

- Answer Hi LRW. The LG 27 in. 4.5 cu. ft. Black Steel Ultra Large Capacity Electric All-in-One Washer Dryer Combo, Model # WM3998HBA has a Load Sensing system for determining the water levels for individual wash cycles. After loading your clothing items in to the washer and you have selected your chosen options, when the Start/Pause button is pressed to begin the wash cycle, the washer will first measure the load size to determine how much water to use for that cycle with your chosen options and it automatically adjusts the water level for the type and size of wash load for best results and maximum efficiency. Due to the high-efficiency nature of this product, water levels may be much lower than expected. This is normal and cleaning/rinsing performance will not be compromised. The washer has a total weighted per-cycle water consumption of 16 65 gallons...^IFV

- Answer Hi, The end of the drain hose should be located a minimum of 24" (61 cm) and a maximum of 96" (244 cm) above the bottom of the washer..For best results, locate the end of the drain hose no higher than 66" (168 cm) above the bottom of the washer.If the drain hose is extended more than 4 inches (10 cm) beyond the end of the elbow bracket, mold or microorganisms could spread to the inside of the washer. ^Vanessa

QuestionWe have a previous generation and have to replace the drain pump about once a year. Has LG improved the drain pump in these units over the previous generation?

- Answer Why would they do that? Would lower parts sales. Mine came off the line with bad parts and it took them three months to fix it. Brand new - didn't work - lots of apologies - but no parts available "just yet." I'd never seen anything like it.

QuestionThe manual has limited details on the Dryer options. Can someone list the options? Is there a single temperature for drying? Since it is 110V I assume its not very hot when it runs. Thanks!

- Answer My biggest frustration with this product, was actually the manual. It's very lacking in a lot of details. As for your question. There isn't a temp setting. It's simply, Timed, Normal, or Turbo. I've honestly only used Normal, and just the system determine how long it needs to dry. Hope that helps.

- Answer once the dryer goes off leave it sit for 30 minutes. Mine have been dry all the way if I wait another 30 minutes. I even had a real large load crammed full before bed. Next am 100% dry. Something about condensation and waiting a short time after cycle it dissipates.

QuestionDuring the drying cycle, humid steam comes out of from the safety air vent located at the back part. This causes humidity and smell in the room. This is normal?

- Answer I have *EXACTLY* the same problem (humidity and a smell that irritates the throat, causing us to cough—likely particulates—reminiscent of lightly burned material). Keep in mind, this is not the normal burn off smell that happens when it's brand new and disappears after a dozen or so cycles. This is something else that started near the one-year purchase date. We called the company and they thought the problem was that the clothes were being overheated. So they replaced the heating component. However, the problem did not go away. We used affresh to clean out the machine and the smell seems to be different (less of an irritant) and slightly different. But the humidity is still there. Either way, neither of those things are supposed to be happening and we will need to investigate further.

QuestionIs there a tumble cycle on the dryer in order to reduce wrinkling? I plan to start a load while at work and don't want it to sit in the dryer for hours. Is this something I should monitor on the app, or is it automatic?

- Answer The LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Washer and 12-Cycle Electric Dryer Combo, Model # WM3998HBA does not have a tumble cycle (called Wrinkle Care on LG Dryers) that you can select so that the dryer will tumble briefly every few minutes to help prevent wrinkles from setting in the clothes. You can download and install the LG ThinQ application that allows you to communicate with the appliance using a smartphone. Once the remote control feature on the washer is enabled, you can start a cycle from the LG ThinQ application. If the cycle is not started, the appliance will wait to start the cycle until the appliance is turned off remotely or the remote control feature is disabled. If the door is opened, the remote control feature is disabled. Settings in the LG ThinQ Application Feature allows you to set various options on the appliance and in the application...^IFV
