LG does not recommend the use of a drip pan. If one must be used, take extra care to follow the instructions provided with the drip pan and make sure the leveling feet are adjusted for firm and even contact with the pan. Use of drip pans and failure to properly level the machine may result in increased vibration and noise during operation. ^Daphane
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Drain pan under washer (ideally with a leak detection device in it) is absolutely essential for washers installed above the first floor. It's shocking that LG "does not recommend the use of a drain pan" with a washing machine. LG really needs to re-think this. I was getting ready to buy this washer but this is probably a deal-breaker for me, will have to look at other brands.
