Hello there! The washer and dryer in the LG 5.0 cu. ft. HE Smart Front Load Washer and 7.4 cu. ft. Gas Dryer Washtower are not detachable. Additionally, for concerns about fitting through narrow stairs, it is advisable to measure the clearance on the stairs before purchasing such units to ensure they can be maneuvered into place. -Junel
