Oily residues are not produced by the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 5.5 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity Smart Top Load Washer with Impeller, EasyUnload™ & AI Sensing, Model # WT8400CB. They typically stem from a buildup of laundry products, body soils, and lint. High-Efficiency (HE) detergents and liquid fabric softeners often contain quartz or petroleum-derived quartz/silicone materials. When combined with body oils, pet hair, and dirt, these ingredients can coat the inside of your washer's drum and pipes, creating a waxy, greasy sludge. Using too much soap, doing mostly cold-water washes, or relying heavily on fabric softeners will accelerate this buildup. Over time, these residues flake off and cling to clothing. It is possible that over time, the rubber seals that keep the oil inside the transmission can degrade. When this seal breaks, machine oil and grease can leak into the wash drum, leaving distinct dark, oily spots on your clothing...^Ivan.
