  • QuestionWhat is the warranty

    Asked by Chicken.

    • Answer Do not count on the warranty being very helpful. LG support is terrible, and you will be without a washer so long waiting for repairs that you will be forced to buy a new one.

  • QuestionHas anyone had issues with this machine rinsing? Just got it and on it doesn't do a rinse, it just sprays clothes while spinning.

    Asked by Mike.

    • Answer The rinse cycle on the ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 5.5 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity Smart Top Load Washer with Impeller, EasyUnload™ & AI Sensing, Model # WT8400CW, does not work like on older top load washers. It is designed to remove detergent residue, excess water, and other impurities from your clothes. It uses fresh water to flush away any lingering residue that might irritate your skin or leave your clothes stiff. The rinse cycle is often combined with a spin cycle, which removes excess water from your clothes by spinning them rapidly in a drum. This helps to speed up the drying process and prevent your clothes from being overly damp...^Ivan.

  • QuestionSometimes after putting in the laundry, it doesn't look like there's enough water in it. Does it cause a problem if we add additional water from another source?

    Asked by Harry.

    • Answer The ENERGY STAR® Certified LG 5.5 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Smart Top Load Washer with EasyUnload - Alpine White, Model: WT8400CW, is a "High-Efficiency" washer as indicated in its title, and it is specifically designed for use with High-Efficiency (HE) detergents only. High-efficiency (HE) detergents are low-sudsing, concentrated formulas designed for HE washers that use less water, producing optimal cleaning with minimal suds and quickly dispersing dirt to prevent redepositing on clothes, saving energy and water. You should only use HE detergent in HE machines (front-loaders and modern top-loaders) to avoid overflows and ensure proper cleaning, identified by the "HE symbol" on the bottle, as regular detergent creates too many suds for low-water cycles. The washer automatically adjusts the water level for the type and size of wash load for the best results and maximum efficiency, and the water levels may be much lower than you expect. This is normal, and cleaning. While you can technically add extra water to a top-load High-Efficiency (HE) washer using a bucket or hose, it is generally advised against because it can cause poor cleaning, tangled clothes, and potential leaking. The washer has a Depp Fill option that you can select to add extra water to the wash cycle for better wash performance with large or bulky items, however, if the washer reaches its maximum water level, this button will have no effect. To add more water while a cycle is running, pause the cycle and select this option. When you select the Normal cycle and the Deep Fill option, the cycle is changed to the Deep Wash cycle before starting...^Ivan.

  • QuestionIs scud an issue with this machine?

    Asked by Harry.

    • Answer Scrud is a waxy, slimy buildup of undissolved detergent, fabric softener, lint, soap scum, and body soils that accumulates inside washing machines, especially high-efficiency (HE) models, regardless of brand or manufacturer, including the ENERGY STAR Certified LG 5.5 cu. Ft. Mega Capacity Smart Top Load Washer with Impeller, EasyUnload™ & AI Sensing, Model # WT8400CW, leading to foul odors, mold, and black/brown flakes on clothes. It forms from using too much detergent or fabric softener, washing mainly in cold water, and insufficient machine cleaning, creating a breeding ground for bacteria and grime that dislodges onto laundry. Washing in cold water leads to soap residue buildup in the machine because it doesn't break down the detergent as well as hot water does. LG recommends dissolving two to three dishwasher tablets in a bucket of hot water, pouring that in the machine, and running the longest, hottest cycle, or using two 75g cans worth of citric acid, in the machine and running the longest, hottest cycle to tackle soap scrud. The owner's manual for the washer warns against using cold water all the time, and advises doing at least a warm water cycle every five washes or so to prevent the problem, and periodically cleaning your machine regularly, using hot water...^Ivan.
