• Hi DrParker. The recommended installation clearance spacing for the LG 9.0 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Electric Dryer with Steam - Graphite Steel, Model # DLEX8100V is 1 inch for the sides and 5" for the rear. The dryer has been tested for spacing of 1inch clearance on the sides and rear. Recommended spacing should be considered for ease of installation, for wall, door and floor moldings (2.54cm) and to reduce noise transfer. There should be at least a little space around the dryer (or any other appliance) to eliminate the transfer of vibration from one to the other. Too much vibration could cause them to make noise or bump each other causing paint damage and making even more noise...^IFV

• What do you mean by "additional inches"? My dryer is BARELY 3 inches away from the back wall, and about 1 inch from the side wall.
