The answer depends on if its CDMA or GSM. In the US, Sprint, Verizon and US Cellular use CDMA. AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. Most of the rest of the world uses GSM. So the real question is which is it, CDMA or GSM? That's what I came here wanting to know, I'm using Verizon, so I'm looking for a CDMA phone, but nobody's answering the question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The US996 works on both CDMA and GSM providers including Verizon, ATT, and Tmobile (have not found any validation for working on Sprint). It should work with the international GSM carriers with no problem. To activate, You will need to get a nano sim card from Verizon and either activate the phone yourself or go the Verizon store. If you to the Verizon store, from what I have read, some employees will activate it without issue and some will turn you away. If you want to go the store route, I would suggest trying multiple times if necessary.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s Verizon’s markup. Plus this phone is unlocked for all carriers. Not just Verizon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just pop in your nano sim card from old phone or have Verizon activate one for you if you don't have one. I can't see why it wouldn't work internationally. Cheaper maybe because it's unlocked and Verizon doesn't gain from the sale and is not branded? I'm guessing...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. An unlocked phone (such as this one) needs to have a SIM card put in. You would have to get one from Verizon for it to work with Verizon. I suggest contacting Verizon before purchasing to make sure they agree, and that there are no other gotchas. (I use Ting as my carrier) The second question is better asked of Verizon, but I would think "yes." The final question is have no idea. Best Buy prices things to sell. Maybe the Verizon one is currently selling better than the unlocked one? Just a guess.
