- Answer Yes, Cat3-8 are all 4-pair twisted pair cables. Cat8 is tested to 40G, however this is a 1G switch, so buying anything more than CAT5e is a waste of money.

QuestionI'm using the Linksys Velop mesh network. Coming out of the ISP's Modem, should I go directly into the Velop node or can I go through the switch & into the Velop Node? Will it affect my Wifi speed? The node has 2 ports & I have 4 other Ethernet devices.

- Answer To get the best out of your Velop (I have 5 nodes) you should go from your cable modem straight to the master node. Then use the other port to go to feed the switch. If you can, connect the other members of the mesh also to that switch. This way the mesh uses Wifi to talk to your devices, but the hard wire to communicate to the master node and internet. In my case I have 3 out of 5 wired like that.

- Answer This is an unmanaged switch, so no .1q. if you need .1q or .1ad you will need a fully managed sw. The Linksys Smart GigSwitch (LGS308, LGS308P, LGS30MP, LGS318, LGS318P, LGS326, LGS326P, LGS326MP) supports upto 128 VLANs. Smart Switch also support .3ad/LAG for upto 2 ports. No Layer3 or Port22/SSH capability
