• Hello there. The RE6500 range extender (and the rest of our range extenders) would connect to a NetGear router (and any brand of router).

• The brand of the router that the linksys extender is boosting is irrelevant. It just needs to be appropriate wifi protocols (e.g. 802.11AC)
