Yes I named both bands under the same network name and password.
My 4k tv connected to the 2.4 band. Netflix etc has been working fine
I have 1 tv, a phone, 2 bluray and my ps4 connected
Haven't noticed any problems

Yes, the router defaults to adding "_5GHz" at the end but you can overwrite that. The password can be the same. Your devices will choose one or the other, many devices still cannot connect to 5GHz, so they will default to the 2.4. I cannot foresee this causing any issues.

Both bands are using the same name/password at my home. You can choose which band most of your items are using when you set each item up. My SmartTV has had no issues with it at all.

You can use the same user name and password for the bands 2.4 and 5. I do not have a smart TV and I would advise you to ask someone at Best Buy about Smart TV hook ups.

My 2.4 and 5 are both named the same except 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz follow the name. I have same passwords. My PS4(first gen) only sees one network without a 2.4/5 after it and it connects just fine, my older fire stick connects over 2.4 and my newer ones see the 5ghz and connect just fine. So far I haven’t had any issues with smart connectivity.

Both of the wifi ssid's can be named the same as weel as having the same password. This allows your device to choose how it wants to connect to your router. The 5 ghz wifi will be used when you are close and the 2.4 ghz signal will reach to the corners of your house.

Off course you can. It automatically names the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz networks with the same SSD followed with the type of band, then you decide which one to hook up. The password is the same, unless you change it in the advanced router settings. If your device supports both bands I recommend you to go with 5 GHz (It is faster), most devices automatically chose what network is best to work with.

As far as naming you need to distinguish between the 2.4Ghz and the 5ghz, just choose a name you know will be the 5 and the 2.4., but you can give the same password that will not affect anything.
