Questionis this router compatible with Comcast xfinity

- Answer Yes, I have Xfinity also. But this is a ROUTER. Any router will work with any internet service as far as I know. Maybe you're thinking about the "CABLE MODEM"? That's the hardware you have to be concerned if it's compatible with your provider to have internet service. I have the Linksys CM3008 Cable Modem that's compatible with Xfinity. And I have this Linksys EA6350-4A AC1200+ Router for the WiFi and wired connection. Or you can get a combination Cable Modem/Router in 1. Call Xfinity and ask what combination Cable Modem/Router is compatible. Hope this helped

Questioncan you name both bands 2.4 and 5 the same name and password. What happens when devices such as a smart TV hooks up to this? Which band will it use? Will this cause any problems?

- Answer Yes I named both bands under the same network name and password. My 4k tv connected to the 2.4 band. Netflix etc has been working fine I have 1 tv, a phone, 2 bluray and my ps4 connected Haven't noticed any problems

QuestionI was just informed by Linksys that the EA6350 1200AC + must not be plugged into a power strip but must be plugged into the wall directly. The documentation has no mention of this during setup. Is this true? I never heard of this?

- Answer Hi, jpmalonesr. You can plug the EA6350 router (and all our home routers) into power strips given that the strip supports 110V to 220V of power.

QuestionDoes this router allow me to set time usage of internet on certain days. for example we have 3 kids and on school nights we need it to shut off at 10pm and weekends at 12am etc?

QuestionIs there a setting to extend the range?There are a few blind spots only 50 feet away. Otherwise the router works great.

- Answer I got a WiFi range extender for 40 bucks put it at the 50-75% strength region and it fixed my range issues, only thing that sucks is that you have to buy something else.

QuestionWhat all is included in box?What all do I need to set up this router, besides an internet connection? Do I use Ethernet wires to connect to the different components or HDMI cords? How many components can I hook into this model? This model is wired, is this good or bad? And what situations is wired best used? And lastly how many mbps will I need to run streaming movies on a 60" plasma tv, 2 computers, a bluray dvd, a speaker bar, and a Roku3.

- Answer I didn't plug anything into the router other than the Ethernet connection to the modem. I set up everything wireless. I don't know the limit of wireless connections, but I have three computers, a printer, and two smart phones that communicate with it. In my box, I got the router, a power converter with the needed wall plug and connection to the router, and short Ethernet cable. The router has a USB connection and 4 Ethernet connections in addition to the input connector. Can't answer your question regarding the mbps.

- Answer Hello, lugluglughead. If you have a gateway device (modem-router combination), then you can use the Linksys EA6350 as Bridge Mode/Access Point to connect your other devices to it.

- Answer Mine covers 2,000 sq ft with negligible signal loss, and that's on the 5GHz band. 2.4GHz performs even better for range. You can resolve signal conflicts (if you set up an AP) through different channels. If you pick up neighbors' signals, you'll want to do that anyway.

QuestionWhy does my connection slow down after a few minutes of inactivity? I end up having to disable/reenable my wireless on my PC/iPhone to get a faster wireless connection. Initial connection is >100MB/s, but later drops to 10MB/s

- Answer This device goes to over 300mbs and has two different settings. You have to make sure you set up the system correctly first or just simply restart it and start over just in case. I use my 5G so my priority devices can run smoothly. But as I read more of your connectivity answers, it sounds like it has more to do with your carrier for internet and I'd recommend giving them a call first before restarting your router. The router doesn't make the MBS drop that has to do with either your modem or internet provider.

- Answer Hi, Motherof1. The Linksys EA6350 is a plain router. You need to have an Internet Service Provider in order to have internet access.
