- Answer The VPNFILTER malware should not take over the router and has not with mine. But everyone should get a good virus protection also for their computer because that also protects against malware.

QuestionHow can I recover my password or make a new password?

- Answer One easy way is to simply reset the router... Press and hold the small resessed button for 10 seconds. The router will reset to factory settings. Then simply set up the router again.

- Answer Yes. Over 50 devices. Note that the more devices you have streaming at one time, the slower your connection will be.

- Answer Hi, Malone! If you purchased the Linksys EA6350 in your region, it should work. However, most of our Linksys routers coming from U.S has a 120V; if you bought the router in a different region, you may need a step-down to make it work.

- Answer Yes, it broadcasts different SSIDs for 2.4 and 5ghz at the same time and you can connect to either of them.

QuestionThinking about getting this but, a part of me is like: "Do I really need a new one, the one I have is still working fine". I mostly use wired, W-Fi only for my Chromeboook/phone. I've had the WRT54G2 since 2009, would I really notice that much difference?

- Answer The difference will only be noticeable if you are connecting with devices that have Wireless AC capabilities. Wireless B - 11mbps, Wireless A & G - 54mbps, Wireless N - 300mbps, Wireless AC - 1,331mbps. Yes, wireless AC is faster than a 1gbps wired connection. It is a pretty amazing world we live in today.

QuestionIf I have any trouble, either w/ the setup, have to replace it, or simply want to return it, would I be able to go back to my old Linksys I'm using currently (the WRT54G2 I think it is), w/o any issues? Would keeping the same password cause issues?

- Answer If you keep the same SSID and password you will have to delete the old "Known Wireless Network" and reconnect to the new or old wireless router. It might just prompt for the wireless password again but most the time you have to delete the Known Network and reconnect.

QuestionI only use directly my Chromebook, will I need to hook it up to Linksys via the USB/Ethernet adapter (I have it) to setup the Wi-Fi? I mean, you can't use the Wi-Fi to set it up if it's not set up in the 1st place, right? :-)

- Answer It's very easy to setup without using the disc. It comes pre-built with a SSID and password which are included in packaging. Then follow the instructions from there on connecting to the admin portal.

QuestionThis device is pretty hot on the bottom. Is this normal?

- Answer It should not be. It overheating can cause issues. Ensure that it is not on top of another electronic device that may be generating heat and that there is open space around the bottom of the device (around the legs) so that air is able to flow easily.

QuestionDoes this router have an open NAT type out of the box like my other Linksys router?I have a Linksys E1200 which was recommended by Microsoft for gaming, especially on xbox/360/one, due to the OPEN NAT type out of the box. Thus requiring no port forwarding. Does this have the same?
