“I only use directly my Chromebook, will I need to hook it up to Linksys via the USB/Ethernet adapter (I have it) to setup the Wi-Fi? I mean, you can't use the Wi-Fi to set it up if it's not set up in the 1st place, right? :-)”

It's very easy to setup without using the disc. It comes pre-built with a SSID and password which are included in packaging. Then follow the instructions from there on connecting to the admin portal.
