• New routers have more built-in protections, but the extender can solve problems of distance from the main router. Considering that they are not very expensive, I would try the extender first. Use it for a few days and see if it improves and stabilizes your connections. If not, then add the new router. Sorry I just got this question today. Hope you have solved your internet issues by now.
