- Answer If I understand your question correctly, it will do both. You can set it up to clone your router's SSID for seamless transitions and range extension, or you can set it up as a totally separate access point (with its own SSID and network name). Hope this helps!

QuestionIs the Linksys AC1900 compatible with a Westell Router Modem 7500?

- Answer While yes it is compatible with the Westell Router Modem 7500 you wouldn't receive many of the benefits of the range extender because the router modem you have is a very dated Wireless-G model. This Range Extender is two generations forward and may not fix your range problems. I would recommend a newer router in its place because those will mostly likely solve your issues, and at this price range you can get a very substantial router that will offer a significantly better solution. I will include a couple of recommendations in its place.

- Answer Based on my needs, I placed the extender on the second floor of my townhouse. I needed the push from the extender to provide more broadband access to the third floor.

- Answer Yes definitely - just make sure you extend the 2.4GHz network (unless you have a new PS4 Slim/Pro that supports the 5Ghz network). The key point is that you have to install the extender not where the PS4 is but somewhere in the middle between the PS4 and the main router - so this device acts as a 'half-way' repeater. You still need to have a good signal to the repeater from the main wifi for it to carry onto the PS4 but then the PS4 should connect to this without any problems,

QuestionHello, I am having bandwidth problems with my wifi routers. Both the base and the extender give only 24Mbs speed while a direct connect get 94Mbs. How can I speed up my wifi access?

- Answer Usually the speed will drop as you get farther from your base unit , you might try locating the extender closer to the base unit. The speed is directly proportional to the signal level. You should look into changing out your wifi units for newer units with higher speeds .

- Answer If I understand your question, all you have to do is select the name of the WiFi and when it asked you for the password, enter it. That is all you need to do to connect and use the strong WiFi you are experiencing...

QuestionWe just moved to an area in Hawaii that does not have fiberoptic cable/high speed internet. My kids are so bummed because gaming using Satellite Wi-Fi is super laggy. Would a Linksys booster help with the signal and possibly remedy the lag a little?

- Answer It sounds like you're asking if this will boost your phone's wireless data reception from your cell phone provider if you put this in your window. No, it won't do that. This device only helps extend the range that YOUR wireless network INSIDE your home reaches; it can't make an external network have better penetration in your house. For example: if you have Comcast for internet and use a Linksys wireless router, but you're having trouble connecting to your Linksys down in your basement, this could help. However, if you're relying on your phone's data from Verizon, and don't have a dedicated internet service provider for your home (like Cox or Comcast), this will not take a Verizon/ATT/T-Mobile signal and make it better in your house if you have bad coverage. It sounds like that's what you're hoping it does from your question.

- Answer Hi, RG. The Linksys RE7000 Max-Stream™ AC1900+ WiFi Extender will work with non-Linksys routers. However, the Seamless Roaming feature will only work with the Linksys Max-Stream products.

- Answer I unplug mine and move it between two spots and have not had to reset it up each time. Also when the power went out - it came back on by itself when power was restored. Great product!
