Yes. I have outlets scattered around with some at the edges of coverage (with security cameras plugged in). This definitely helps.

Not if you are using it to extend your Wi-Fi range to connect to the farthest/weakest signal WEMOs, becauae they will be connected to "separate" Wi-Fi signals. This device creates a new access point or Wi-Fi to connect tour devices too. However, if you can place this in a location that all 4 WEMO outlets and your echo or whatexer Alexa device then it should work.
