What does the chime mean when not on your person? null

The unit will chime when it is placed onto the charging base and when it is taken off the charger. I love this feature so that I know without a doubt that a charging connection has been made or that it is ready to wear. The light on the charger will flash when it is charging and turns solid when charging is complete.

It does have an alert when being removed from the charger, and it may have a chime alert if you don't have it on you - around your neck or clicked to your waistband, or in your pocket. Just to remind you to wear it - or it doesn't do what it is supposed to.
