• Correct. For closed cabinets, you would need the Harmony Elite and not the 665. - Will, Logitech.

• The Harmony 665 is an IR remote. It requires line of sight to the device. It will not work if the device is behind a closed door. If you want to leave the doors closed you could use something like this. A Remote Extender Kit or IR repeater.
