I want a remote that has lighted buttons on it so that I do not have to turn on a light to change channels. Does this one do that? Also, how do I program this when I receive it? null

Unfortunately, the buttons are not backlighted. The LCD panel on the remote will light up automatically when you pick up the remote, but not the buttons.

The buttons *below* the LCD screen are lighted. The others, next to and above the screen are not lighted. The screen itself is lighted.

Programming is done via MyHarmony software from Logitech. This involves a PC and USB interface/cable from the computer to the remote. You set up your devices and activities such as watch TV, listen to music, etc. Then the remote sends appropriate signals to each device by the activity you pick.
