“I currently have Dish - my TV is wall mounted and the “box” is behind the TV parallel btwn the TV and wall. It DOES not require line of sight to operate. Want to switch to Uverse which REQUIRES line of sight. Can this remote control the “box” w/o LOS ?”

If you are asking can you use this remote with your “box” behind the TV the answer is no because the remote just like Uverse requires lone of sight. If your. Box is out in front where it can receive theIR signal from the remote it will work just fine.
