You need a computer and internet connection. Download and install software, connect remote, select devices to control, select how to interact. Plenty of videos online that show the process.

There are step-by-step instructions with it. It is really easy. You basically type in on the Logitech webpage the names and models of the devices you want to control an how they are connected, e.g., which device controls the volume.
