“I need a remote that will work with Klipsch theater systems. I read all these answers saying it will control just about anything, but Direct TV says the same thing about their remote and it does not. Can anyone confirm if this will work.”

I always have the Geek Squad set mine up. They also set your TV up for optimal viewing conditions.
