• Yes you will just have to program the remote to just do stuff in bedroom. And then just program the tv in liveing room .

• Yes. When programming the TV and other devices ( including a jukebox ) in our basement media room, we had difficulty programming the Roku because all of the Roku devices in the house show up to be picked during programming, and the wrong one was picked, so it was controlling the TV in my upstairs library. This was easily reprogrammed, but I know it works at a distance
