• It is infrared, and needs a visible device. Can't answer if it will work through glass, but I suspect it will.

• No this is not the RF version, it is only IR so you do have to point the remote at the device and it does not work through closed cabinet doors. If you want RF you need the Harmony Elite remote for $350. • No it is not. The Harmony Ultimate has the "puck" that is RF compatible and is usually on sale for only $50 more.

• Yes, it works great for that. And you do not need to point it in any direction. BUT you must run the wire with small RF disc outside the cabinet and place it near the tv to operate that piece of equipment with the group. It also operates my sound bar which is also outside of cabinet.
