- Answer They are not backlit. It’s a spill-proof, dust-proof keyboard and kids can’t fidget with the keys and pull them off, thankfully. Some may not prefer this, but I think the feel of the keys when typing are really good. The workmanship feels good, not like some cheap keyboard product off of Amazon.

- Answer The keyboard draws power from the iPad, through the smart connector on the side of the iPad you probably didn't even know was there - I didn't. So, the keyboard does not need to be charged separately, a major plus.

QuestionWhen you don't want to use the keyboard such as drawing with the Apple Pencil, can you remove the keyboard, such as disconnect it from the smart connector? Or can you disable the keyboard when it is not in use?

- Answer The tablet knows when it is in a typing position and when it is placed/folded behind the tablet (to which it will magnetically stay in its position, not being a hindrance. This should allow it to not react when it is in a folded position for tablet use or drawing.

- Answer This cover is designed so that when you close it, the keyboard closes OVER the screen of the ipad and the back of the ipad is mostly enclosed in the case itself but the pull out stand that flattens is also covering the small opening that is back there. Once it is fully closed, there is the flap that attaches magnetically from the front to the back to secure it. I previously had the other Logitech cover for my iPads but this one is so much better! No charging separately and the keys can not come off (which I had issues with) I also wanted a case that totally covered my ipad and this one is the best. Apple even told me that theirs would not cover he entire device so I went with the one I knew, but upgraded to this case and am happy I did! You can not go wrong!

- Answer In my opinion, no. You need a flat surface to have this placed upon if you want to type because the back flap will be holding it up....and since the iPad is heavier than the case, it is a challenge. This "tent" style case is not for someone who wants to use their iPad as a laptop, unless they have a firm flat surface to use it on.....like a table. It has no spine so it cannot hold itself up.

- Answer Hello Ralph. The Rugged Folio is laser cut to fit the 7th Generation iPad. It will not properly fit your 6th Generation iPad.

- Answer Yes, this will technically fit the iPad Air 3, I've seen this work. The only thing to know is that because the Air 3 is slightly thinner, it may not feel as tight in the case.

To take your iPad out of the Rugged Folio Keyboard for Apple iPad (7th, 8th & 9th Gen), simply apply some pressure out on the rubbery edges of the Rugged Folio, and pull it back from the iPad. It's holding onto the device with tight pressure from the case molding only. - Mathieu from Logitech
