It is not, however consider if you really need the touchscreen. If the answer is yes, there are ways to add touch to it -- for instance by attaching a Wacom drawing tablet. If that doesn't seem optimal you should really consider a 12.9-inch iPad Pro which you can use both an Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard with. The iPad Pro would come with the same processor (8-Core M1), an upgraded graphic card (8 Cores vs. 7 Cores on this); same memory (8GB) and same storage options (256GB or 512GB is available and higher). The apps on the iPad that you would be using for touchscreen have been optimized for a touch experience (i.e. Notability, Procreate) which is the real difference between macOS and iPadOS and running iPadOS apps on Mac. Even though the apps have been ported to Mac it's not going to be anywhere near the same experience.

It needs to be. I haven’t bought an Apple computer because I’m waiting for a touch screen one. Come on Apple give us a touch screen Mac!
