• Yes, if you have an iPhone you don’t even need cable as it will connect via airdrop. iMessage will be available too at the MacBook mirroring your iPhone

• I synced it with my iPhone. Had to but a gadget on Amazon. I think It does get messages but I haven’t done that yet.
