For studio work it is better to buy a model with at least 16 gb memory. Also, based on your preference you can choose the screen size. MacBook Air is 13.3 which can seem a bit on the smaller side for some people.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The obvious would be MacBook Pro M1 MAX. If you do decide to use an Intel-based MacBook Pro, try to shoot for a 16GB with i9 or the least i7. Normally you could even use i5 or i3 but that doesn't make sense in 2021. iMac however, if you can get the 3.6, with a high processor, and if you can grab the one that can expand the ram up to 32GB, go for that. It's about 1000 brand new right now i think of Bestbuy minus the extra ram. it might not be the fastest processor though but it'll be able to compete with silicon. Apple has too good proprietary software and works with protocols seamlessly. Windows has too many bugs and practically comes with malware and viruses already I don't know anyone who makes music from a Windows PC or laptop. but that's just me. a lot of studios use hackintosh but i'm not sure after this year since the M1MAX or m2 is pretty much taking over.
