I use adobe creative cloud with my MacBook and it easily outruns my desktop with a gen 12 i7. The M1 Pro is very speedy. I process about 400-500 photos from my Nikon Z6ii in raw each batch. It is surprisingly speedy and the screen is extremely nice. I use and like Asus products but you aren’t going to beat the screen on the MacBook for the price. I hope this helps.

The MacBook Pro is a very nice laptop computer and it runs Photoshop very well! The screen on the MacBook has very accurate color representation which is great for photo editing. The trick comes with which other programs that you may want to run. Unless you know the apps are compiled and optimized for Apple Silicon (M1 and M2 processors) your experience could be hit or miss. A program that was designed for Mac Intel processors may run under the Rosetta translation layer. This creates a virtual x86 layer on top on the macs ARM based processor which essentially translates the program as you run it. It’s very efficient, but it can reduce the performance of the application even compared to an older MacBook that used an Intel processor. Games can also be hit and miss. Some games work great and others take a significant performance hit. There are some resources online that you can investigate to find out whether your programs have been optimized for Apple Silicon or not. This could help with your decision. I would suggest that you do some more research and investigate the programs that you want to run before deciding between these two systems. The MacBook Pro is an amazing computer, but it has some quirks that are important to realize before making your purchase. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe photoshop has native support for these new macs but to answer your question the max would be better because of the more color accurate display and higher resolution. I would advise to make sure all your apps work well on mac just in case
