Depends on how you hook it up. If you are running off your head unit then just use the existing wires. If you are running of an amplifier then you need speaker wire. If you are hooking up an amplifier then you'd need power and remote wire in addition to the speaker wire. If you are unsure I'd watch some videos on youtube or get a professional to install it.
