No. You can mount it up in your attic. I did this and can get 50 some channels and sometimes 40 depending on weather. There is a photo of it in an attic on the back of the box.

It can be used indoors. It's a bit bulky but sure!

No - we installed the antenna inside our garage at the highest point. Reception has been great

We set ours outside on the highest part of the roof
