Depends on your area. Here in Las Vegas, everything is broadcast within 25 miles. The Mohu-Leaf 30 picked up everything just tacking it to the wall. I was pleasantly surprised.

If you are within 30 miles of the towers you should not need a booster but if you have VHF signals in your area or if you are further than 30 miles you may. Google "what OTA channels will I get at my address" to locate a site that will allow you to enter in your COMPLETE address, not just your zip code, so you can see how far the towers are from you.
